Review: UTG one of the best budget scopes on the market. - I have been using the scope for quit a while and very impressed with it. After firing hundreds of rounds it has consistently stayed zeroed. The glass is really clear and it’s built rugged, In the past I have had the reticle come loose on cheaper scopes , but this one is spot on. I have it mounted on a AR-10 chambered in 308, so it’s taken a beating. The only issue I had early on is I forget to add a little blue lock tight and my mounting screws came loose and I had flyers all over the place, a little lock tight, tightend to proper specs and I am constantly hitting a 5 inch steel plate at two hundred yards, I am sold on UTG products because you get the best bang for the buck. It’s economical, rugged and accurate. I just wish the prices were not getting so high or I would outfit the rest of my ARs with this model. Bottom line it’s a good scope for the money, if you can find them and they are not sold out because of popularity Try one, you will be impressed!
Review: Not just a good "budget" scope, This is a GOOD SCOPE! - Arrived when promised with my PRIME membership but that's always the case. Was packaged clever for a scope, wrapped tight to a piece of cardboard and then suspended within another box so that the scope could not make contact with the outside shipping container at all. Scope arrived close to center and was "perfectly" centered within a few minutes. Scope installed to my AR as easy as one could hope for any scope using the included scope rings, was also super easy to level. Cross-hairs are perfectly oriented once leveled. The cross-hairs are perfect as far as thickness without the illumination on and may be considered somewhat thick if using the highest brightness setting on most of the available illumination colors, but not thick enough to make it hard to put the hole wherever you want it. I only used the colors to try them and really have no plans for future use other than to maybe show others that they are available should they wish to use them when shooting my rifle. The brightness is VERY bright on the high setting and I really don't understand the reviews that say the brightness is very low or makes the colors hard to see. I think these reviews do not know how to properly use the product and do not have the brightness adjusted to the high setting. The brightness settings can take the colors from SUPER BRIGHT to BARELY NOTICEABLE, you'll have no problem seeing the illumination on any of the colors if you adjust the brightness correctly, which is done with a button click. The clarity of this scope is OUTSTANDING for a scope of this price, You'll not find ANYTHING clearer OR even AS clear as this scope for this price, Save yourself the time and don't even try. My father and I spent a good hour trying to come up with a BAD thing to say about the picture or clarity of this scope and we could NOT. Even the edges if the picture is GREAT. Zeroing this thing was a freaking dream, honestly one of the easiest scopes I've ever zeroed. I used no bore sight, I centered the scope, installed it level and took to the range. Using bags only this was zeroed to 100 yards in 6 shots. It took 6 shots only because I always do followup shots before making adjustments to make sure there was no shooter error and the shots are consistent. After zeroed I used the locking feature and have since put 1,500 rounds through the rifle with ZERO adjustments, Can still hit a US-quarter at 100 yards dead center. This isn't just a good "budget" scope, this is a GOOD SCOPE!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does this scope require a battery to get a cross hair? I don't want to rely on a dead battery in the field.**
A: The cross hairs show up as a normal scope the battery is only used if you want to illuminate the reticles. I use mine without the battery unless I'm going night hunting to help see the cross hair

**Q: How long is the scope. The specs say 8.5" but one of the reviews says it is 11.1" long. Can someone please clarify?**
A: The COMPACT model is just over 11" long "naked" and 11.5" with the free included scope caps. The regular model is several inches longer.

**Q: How much does this scope weigh and does it come with rings??? THanks!**
A: Well, I took it off and weighed it and it's 1.5 lbs. with rings and yes it does come with great rings with fast turn wing nut type clamps. Its a great scope. clear and great magnification. Pop open lens caps included. 36 color lighted reticle. Only complaint I can have is the reticle cross hairs are a little too fat for long range acquisition of small POI. Hope this helps.

**Q: is it a good scope for a rock river AR10?**
A: I think it should be no problem the scope is solid. Both of my shooting buddy's got it for their AR's one of them on a Rock River the other one on a Bravo company and we have been going the whole summer every weekend and up to now no problems at all. We shoot 50 yards and 100 yards with good tight groups. I think for the prize it's a decent scope if you are worried about the recoil I think it should be able to handle it. I will be putting it on my 12 gauge for deer hunting so the recoil can't be worst than that on your ar10. Good luck I hope this helps you

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 28mm lens makes a difference
*by G***. on May 21, 2019*

I kept this one and returned the well regarded Primary Arms 1-8x24 ACSS. Reasoning below. In short: The good: - Good optical quality, especially at 8x with nice usable eye box (see below). - Mostly true 1x - Have hold zero for around 500 rounds (.223/5.56) - Nice BDC reticle. Although not as featured as ACSS it is still very usable and lest cluttered on the center - Good value for a 1-8x with a 28mm lens The bad: - Distortion on the edges at 1x (as opposed to clean ones on the Primary Arms). I don't notice much in use, but other may - QA appears to not be perfect (see below) Neutral/I don't care: - The 36 colors looks gimmicky to me, but you can just use red and green buttons basically - I don't love the locking mechanism on the turrets, what makes them taller. Capped turrets will probably work better since the reticle has a BCD I wanted to like the Primary Arms 1-8 but with its 24mm objective lens the eye box at 8x is so tiny that you have to be perfectly and absolutely centered what made it practically unusable. At least for me; perhaps because I am a glass wearer, but I have seen others complain about the same. The UTG one though has a much better eye box. I guess that is because the 28mm objective, what also makes it brighter in low light. 28mm/8x = 3.5mm exit pupil (although it is listed as 3.4mm in the specs). The only problem besides the mentioned slight distortion on the 1x is that I got a second sample (the rings were missing screws on the first) and the optical quality was worse on that one, so they may have QA issues (at least on my limited experience with 2 samples), not to forget missing the screws on the mount. Otherwise I would have given it 5 starts instead of 4.
