The Paw Wash was born and patented. It received many awards and is first of its kind. It is used to clean and keep dog paws healthy effortlessly. Just "lift" off the centerpiece of the lid, leaving the yellow ring on, and add a drop of pet shampoo. Then add water to the fill line. It does take a while to figure out how to make it work for you, but once you do, the top will stay on because you'll realize the plastic screw cap is supposed to stay on while you use it, the water will stay in because you'll learn to fill it to the line and you'll master the motion to move the paw through the rubber hole, and the paws will get cleaner because it definitely works.If I can tell by looking out the window that I'll need it after a walk, I prefill it with a few drops of dog shampoo and some warm water and put it with a towel by the front door so I can take care of the dog as soon as we get back. That way I can let her loose in the house and not have to worry about rugs and furniture.I dump the used water in the toilet and it's often dark and has grit in it. I suggest not dumping it in a kitchen sink, especially if it has a garbage disposer.After use, you need to wash it out and let it dry with the rubber part set aside or else it will get funky inside. Also, it doesn't remove all the water from the fur so you'll need to learn to juggle the paw washer and a towel. I wash and dry one leg at a time. It takes about a minute to get all 4.It works great in winter for cleanup after walking on salted, brown snow on the side of the road and on rainy days where she might get a little muddy. In fall and spring when there's lots of plant debris and mud getting trapped in her long fur, I prefer to put her in the tub and wash her legs with a sprayer. For the most part, the mud comes off my dogs paws, but not all, and then I have four dogs with wet slightly muddy feet wandering around. I have four small dogs, two Cairns, one Schnauzer, and a super mutt. The schnauzers feet fit the best and come clean the most. There is no suction to the dirt, it simply rinses their feet. I have had no trouble with the lid or any other part. Their feet aren't as clean as I had hoped.With four dogs, I am also changing the water every four paws. This does however, work better than making my dogs stop in a foot bath first. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Cleans Muddy Feet Well *by T***G on Reviewed in the United States on January 31, 2015* This paw wash is a god send when our dog gets his white furry feet all caked in dirt and mud. However, it does take a cooperative dog who will let you take his paw and plunge it in and out of the devise. Ours resigns himself to the process. I plunge one paw in and out then squeeze his foot gently upon removing it to get off the excess water. When finished with all 4 paws, I then dry his feet with a towel. It is a hassle but I would rather do this than have a filthy carpet!After each use, the paw plunger needs to be rinsed out and refilled with clean water. Unscrew the gold top ring, remove the black rubber cap and then rinse out the dirty water. Refill with fresh water (I add one drop of liquid dish soap to the water), rinse off the black rubber, put it over the opening, then screw back the top gold band over it. Then snap in the locking cover so it doesn't spill.Luckily, we don't have to use it unless it is very wet outside causing his feet to get extra dirty. This devise takes some patience and a strong desire to keep the dirt off your carpet.
