It sits with the useful end off the surface, it doesn't roll anywhere, and it is easy to get your fingers around the handle to pick it up again when you need it.* I find many "budget" utensils are too flimsy. Nylon utensils often have a thin shaft which sags under any weight. Silicone utensils tend to have a stronger material for a the shaft, but even so the useful end wilts under any decent amount of pasta or other food. This set of nylon utensils are somewhat flexible, but feel sturdy enough that I'll be able to stir mashed potatoes without a 2-second delay at the other end of the utensil.* The weight and shape are fantastic! Large enough to grip without clamping down; lightweight so they are easy to manipulate.CONS:* Others have mentioned the durability of the faux-wood sticker, and I've unfortunately had same experience. It was beautiful coming out of the box. Although it claims to be dishwasher safe, I hand-washed the set before their first use. Using nothing but a soft washcloth, soap, and warm water, some of the veneer has already begun peeling. Just a small area for now, and just on one of the 7 utensils. But some bubbling is evident, so I'm sure other spots will peel with further use. While the set will remain fully functional, the appeal of displaying them nicely on the counter with the included stand is short-lived. The product is clearly intended to be beautiful. If it had lasted a year before the veneer "wore out," I would have accepted it as a good value considering the price I paid. However, I have to deduct 2 stars since it is a common problem that others are having, and it happened immediately upon a gentle hand-washing.* Because the handle is balanced to rest "down" on the counter (which feels good in your hand too), the utensil may not rest easily in a pan. It may tend to flip out. This was something I hadn't thought of when I made the purchase - kind of an undesirable side effect of a desirable feature.NEITHER PRO/CON - EXACTLY WHAT I EXPECTED: Sharing for others' information.* The rotating stand displays nicely from a distance and it does spin easily to access any tool. It's easy to get a tool on/off without knocking all the others, and to do so is a one-handed operation. With any closer inspection, and certainly upon first touch, it's obviously a cheap plastic piece. If it breaks, the tools go in the drawer and it's no big deal. I found the stand to be a bit flimsy so I put them upside down in a stoneware "crock". I only hand wash them but have noticed that the vinyl that is wrapped around one of the handles is starting to come off. As for the utensils, themselves, they are sturdy and I like them very much. They match my kitchen and they do well in the dishwasher but the vinyl wood motif was already peeling when I got the set.
