## Overview

The Reishi Mushroom Growing Plug Spawn includes 40 high-quality spawn plugs, designed for easy cultivation of Reishi mushrooms. Made in the USA, these plugs are 100% safe for both humans and animals, making them an ideal choice for eco-conscious growers.

## Description

Mushroom plug spawn is spiral grooved hardwood dowels infused (inoculated) with a specific mushroom species, in thise case shiitake mushroom (Lentinula edodes). The mushroom mycelium (the white, root-like network of cells) colonizes and penetrates the dowels as it consumes the lignins provided by the wood. These plugs are used to inoculate freshly cut hardwood logs, stumps, or rounds to create a fruiting mushroom colony that can produce mushrooms for many years! These colonies are commonly referred to as mushroom logs. After waiting approximately one year from inoculation, a well cared for log will produce mushrooms several times a year, for 3-5 years. NOTE: we give you enough spores to inoculate a 6” long log, 2-4” in diameter. You can do smaller logs if you want.

still waiting on results but after being dissatisfied by another supplier I tried these, the dowels were so saturated with mycelium they were actually sticking together, I'm fairly confident I could have grown them right out of the bag.
