So, here it is in a nutshell.Selore offers at least two capabilities that few, if no one else offers.The internal NVMe SSD slot is an absolute bonus. Also, the USB-C pass-thru is hugely important piece of what makes this device special. Part of what sold USB in the first place was the ability to daisy-chain up to 127 devices. But if you have a USB hub with no USB-C out port, then you're just going to waste ~50% of what makes USB-C special, unless you have a monitor with its own USB-C downstream port already included.All this jostling starts to add up when you consider how much a monitor with its own USB-C upstream/downstream hub included costs, as well as the extra cost of buying an extra NVMe SSD drive container - no need for any of that nonsense with the SELORE USB hub. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Super product *by T***R on March 3, 2024* I hooked this up to a Dell laptop version 15-3530 running Windows 11.It connected fine with no issues. I installed a Micron 256 SSD and the Dell recognized the drive to partition it and format it with no problem. It did not require external power to the hub as the Dell USB C port powered it fine. I also attached an external SSD via the USB C (non PD) port on the hub and the Dell saw and used both drives fine with no external power required.Super product. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not too bad, does have some limitations..... *by E***L on January 22, 2023* I purchased this after reading another review for this product that said it would work to boot my Steamdeck into Windows or Kali and it CAN do that without any issues whatsoever (THANK YOU TheGirlIsZelda!!!). So if you are looking to use this to dual boot your laptop or whatever, it SHOULD work just fine. Now with all of that said, there are a few things that MAY be considered a downside to the product. This is using the Realtek RTL9210B-CG chipset running pretty much the stock firmware, version 1.24. The chipset supports PCIe Gen3 x2 which runs at roughly 8 Gbps with 2 lanes for a total of 16 Gbps bandwidth. After having some issues with doing speed tests on the original firmware using Flashbench I upgraded the RTL9210B-CG chipset firmware to version to 1.30.21 (THANK YOU STATION DRIVERS DOT COM!!) *hint on where you can download the firmware* In Windows 11 the device shows up as a "Realtek RTL9210B-CG SCSI Disk Device" under Disk Drives and "USB Attached SCSI (UAS) Mass Storage Device" under Storage Controllers.YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE THE SAMSUNG OR WD DRIVE IMAGING SOFTWARE WITH THE DRIVES INSTALLED IN THIS DEVICE!!! Their imaging software will not detect the Samsung or WD drive that you may install into this device as once again it shows up as "Realtek RTL9210B-CG SCSI Disk Device" in Device Manager and NOT a Samsung or WD drive. So if you are buying this to image your device over to a new Samsung or WD drive it will not work unless you ALREADY have a Samsung or WD drive installed in your laptop or desktop.After upgrading the firmware I was able to get Flashbench to work (also run it as administrator....) but I was only able to get roughly 730 MB/s on my Asus ROG ROG Strix G G731 (PCIE Gen3 x4) and 835 MB/s on my Steamdeck (PCIE Gen4 x4) using a WD Black 2TB SN850X NVMe PCIE Gen4 x4 drive. It almost seems as though it can only use one lane as I can only hit just under that 8 Gbps mark (1000 MB/s). Mind you I have a MUCH slower SSD in my Asus ROG Strix (samsung 970 evo plus which claims HALF the speed of the WD black @ 3,500 MB/s) and I am able to hit the 2670 MB/s (21360 Gbps) mark.So to sum it all up it is not a bad device to use for everyday stuff and your typical dual boot situations. It is NOT MADE FOR PERFORMANCE as far as I can tell/see. If someone is getting better results, PLEASE let me know what you did and I will make any needed adjustments to this review to reflect that after validation.*~*UPDATE*~*POWER SUPPLY!!POWER SUPPLY!!POWER SUPPLY!!I cannot stress that enough.... If you ARE using this for the Steam Deck, USE THE STEAM DECK POWER SUPPLY TO POWER THE USB DEVICE!!! I tried using what I thought would be an more than ample 30W Apple power supply (the cable might be suspect as well) and while it will let you boot up the device it will show up as a USB device and NOT a SCSI (UAS) device...... Your performance will ROYALLY SUCK at that point....*~*UPDATE*~*If you update to firmware version 3.2 and have issues, reflash it once or twice more. I originally flashed it once and it CRUSHED my performance. A few weeks later I decided to try it again and it worked GREAT (after re-flashing it a 3rd time just for good measure...lol)!!
