With that being said, I recommend these 100% to anyone. I think that at first, if you haven't worn hiking-style sandals like this before or have soft feet, you might get a bit scratched up, especially at the the back of the ankle. I actually got blisters and and bled a bit, which totally sucked. But it's just one of those things; after I wore them again after the initial blistering (and didn't wear them while that happened), they were amazingly comfortable. I hiked in them, went in the water with them, walked in the city with them, trekked through the actual jungle with them, etc, and loved them every step of the way. The leather is super comfortable once broken in.Ultimately:Fit: 10/10, as expectedColor: 9/10 - they're not quite the same as the picture, being a little less vibrant in color, but they still look greatComfort: 10/10 after the break-in, but a pretty rough break-in period. I remember being quite miserable, but i had to wear them all day and couldn't take them off; if you were able to more gradually break them in, i'm sure it'll be fine.Tread: 6/10. I have relatively narrow feet and a high arch so I don't really wear sandals often. I also have long, skinny toes and have always felt self conscious about wearing sandals. I can't wear flip flops because they never stay securely on my feet. They always move around and my heel ends up touching the ground while the flip flop is on crooked. I always thought to myself: I wish they had more casual "gladiator" type sandals that have a strap around the ankle to hold everything in place. That's when I found out about Chacos and Tevas! I ended up choosing Tevas because they are much more affordable and not at all ugly. These sandals are so comfortable and I love wearing them! I wear them out constantly: to the store, going to class, wherever! They're very easy to dress up or dress down because of the cute style. The first two or three times I wore them I felt self-conscious simply because I usually wear close-toed shoes and am not used to having my feet so exposed. However after I painted my toes I felt much better about wearing them out. They're very grippy, and this was one of the first things I noticed. They don't slide around on carpet or tile at all. This is about the Teva Original sandals that I recieved yesterday.Dear TevaI had purchased a pair of these sandals back in the 80's. Oh how I loved those sandals! I wore them everyday in the summers that I had them until I finallywore them out. But, back then these same sandals were made with super soft suede leather on the straps. The sandals that came in the mail yesterday have hard uncomfortable leather that cut into the tops of my feet:(Also the insole was suede that made myfoot stay in the sandal, not the slippery leather the new ones have.Why did you change the comfortable sandals that I loved so much in the 80's to 90's? Why?! They were such great sandals :(.,,Please make them comfortable again...
