We tried charging with the USB and it still does not charge enough to really light up. There is a faint glow but you really have to be fairly close to it to even see a glow. I do not understand why it will not charge. We actually didn’t use the stake that came with it and just place them on our patio table. It looks like a romantic candle light dinner in the backyard... every night! The battery lasts about 4 hours for us, but that might be due to the pergola overhead which blocks part of the sunlight.
