It's A5 paper, which fits into most handbags for carrying around. I mostly use it for drawing, and although the paper does smear a little it is surprising for the price. The dot paper is great for note-taking but doesn't distract from drawings. The cover is super sturdy: it is so tough I have used it more than once as a cutting mat. The cover is a glassy clear. My one complaint is that the spiral is not super sturdy and sometimes it becomes difficult to open and close the cover, but it's hard for me to say seeing as the price for the notebooks individually comes out to be so low. Review: Stands up to fountain pens! - I'm a stationery nerd with a crazy backlog of probably 50+ new notebooks of all sorts languishing on my shelves, silently judging me, but when I want a practical, value-for-cost utilitarian notebook that nevertheless has excellent paper, I turn to these. I've gone through at least six so far! Paper is thicker than Rhodia (usually 80 gsm) and more absorbent (also slightly less surface-smooth), so fountain pen inks won't sheen much, but it doesn't seem to feather at all even with a wet pen and inks dry quickly. Perfect for quick notes! The mid-tone gray grid ruling is perfect, too, a goldilocks size and color, neither obtrusively dark nor eyestrain light. The plastic cover is sturdy too and provides a flat stiff writing surface anywhere - can repurpose as a hard, toothy shitajiki pencil board! Really, so many good, no-nonsense things about this notebook. Maybe one minor weakness is the spiral binding which can warp and which the paper does catch now and then when turning a page, but it's hard to demand that level of detail engineering in a ~$5 notebook (in the 3-pack). Nearly 200 words about a notebook. Like I said, nerd. But please humor me, I'm harmless. TL;DR: Excellent value, good everyday quality, works with fountain pens. ## Features - DOTTED JOURNAL NOTEBOOK: RETTACY Dotted Journal Notebook comes in A5 (5.7" × 8.3") size, 3-Pack, 160 Pages per Pack, Total 480 Pages, 100 GSM Thick Acid-free Paper, Sturdy Twin-wire Spiral-bound, Waterproof Flexible Plastic Cover - 100 GSM PAPER: 100 GSM paper is thicker & sturdier, enduring the test of time. The review would give 4 dots/inch your answer would yield 5 dots/inch. What is the actual spacing? **Q: is the notebook good for lettering?** A: yes **Q: What is the size of the grid? As in, how far apart are the lines?** A: Dear Customer, the grid size of our spiral graph journal is 5 squares per inch, that's 1/5 ”(5x5 ). **Q: is the notebook good for brush lettering?** A: The paper is as thick as computer paper, so it may bleed through, though I think the graph like paper would be helpful ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I won't buy any other notebooks. *by R***L on March 22, 2026* I love these notebooks.
