The first one shattered into a bunch of pieces when he inadvertently dropped it. He wasn't careful in lifting it with the removal tool. Had to have another exactly like the first because it's such a great design. It doubles your cooking space, and is so convenient when you want to swing the top grate out of the way. It's fantastic for making pizza using two pizza stones. Putting a stone on the top grate allows the toppings on the pizza to cook as quickly as the crust. The cast iron is amazing for searing steaks or chicken, and brushes clean without a problem. The only improvement I would make is if there was a "lift-off" section where you could add more coals in the process of a cook without having to remove the entire grate.
