## Questions & Answers

**Q: medium?fine?super fine?**
A: I would classify this as Super Fine

**Q: What is the diameter?**
A: 3/8 in.

**Q: why does this seller accept your brand new return only to keep your money too and send back a single cent so it appears without checking to be fine?**
A: Idk capitalism?

**Q: Do I soak the stone before use?**
A: Can Arkansas Stones be used with water instead of oil?
While they can, we recommend using honing oil. The main difference between the two is that when oil is used, some of it remains in the stone after a sharpening session, so the stone is always at least partially charged with oil the next time it is needed. A stone soaked in water can dry out between uses however, meaning that a generous amount of water needs to be applied to the stone with each use.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ good ceramic rods
*by C***J on October 27, 2023*

I have used other ceramic rods so this is not my first rodeo. With that said, these are made of a hard and very fine ceramic. They cut slowly but they do work. When I received these they had a slightly rough surface (think orange peel) which I smoothed out with a few passes of wet 1000gt sandpaper. I used the rod to dress up the edge on about a dozen knives made of an array of different steels. Again, slow cutting ceramic, but it produced a very keen edge. I mounted the rod in a drilled-out length of aluminum rod. I used epoxy to anchor about 1/4" of the rod to the aluminum. Then I covered the aluminum with a length of heat-shrink tube. Makes a nice handle. Ceramic can be fragile so I created a cover with a length of heat-shrink tube as well. Gives it a bit of protection. If you are looking for a hard fine ceramic steel these will do the trick.
