They seemed to work well on the cloudy days as well as sunny. This purchase was good value for money. Tried using setting button but was unresponsive.. sent both back for refund.Instructions are in broken English. They do not technically describe setting up procedure. Although it is not hard to work out.The instructions state "it's is recommended to use only sensor mode in winter", shame it does not say that on the Amazon sales information page.The dim light mode on the working unit was good for about 7 hours. It gave dim light enough to illuminate garden slightly to remove the pitched blackness. The sensor worked good and illuminated the garden to my satisfaction. But after 7 hours the the dim mode went dull and produced no useful light.
