Nachdem ich zu Weihnachten ein japanisches Messer geschenkt bekommen habe (Santoku, handgeschmiedet), habe ich mich erst einmal informiert, welche Schneidebretter dafür am besten geeignet sind, um das Messer lange in einem guten Zustand zu erhalten. Dabei bin ich auf "Zedernholz" gestoßen, wobei es leider nicht viele Schneidebretter aus diesem Material gibt. Nach einiger Sucherei bin ich auf dieses hier gestoßen und bin auch nach gut einem halben Jahr in Benutzung noch sehr zufrieden. Das Brett lässt sich leicht reinigen und verbreitet dabei immer noch einen angenehmen Holzgeruch. Mein Messer hat es mir am Ende auch gedankt!
