A full size can sit on top, but defeats the slide drawer. No biggie, I just ordered the compact keyboard. Mouse pad design simple yet very effective! The concept is great, but in practice it's not. First, the dimensions posted by the seller are not accurate; therefore, the shelf will not fit on your standard 19" rack. I'm a physiologist who has 3 professional racks and have been in this business for 25 years, this is my first time buying a shelf that did not fit. The outer dimensions of the shelf where the crew holes are located are 19 1/2" wide. This extra 1/2" makes all the difference in making it virtually impossible to fit the shelf unless you take a hammer to either your rack or the shelf. The second drawback to this item is that the keyboard sliding shelf does not fit a standard computer keyboard. It's 2" shorter for your average keyboard. Unless you have keyboard without the number pad (i.e an Apple mini keyboard) then your keyboard will stick out and sit on the top of the shelf negating the purpose of the entire item. My third disappointment is that my repeated attempts to contact the sells in order for me to return the item went unanswered. Thus, I have this shelf sitting in it's original box unused and unable to return it.
