Review: Perfect size for my Lectric XP4. - Smooth shifting and easy to use. The thumb lever has a solid feel, and gear changes are quick and precise. Installation was straightforward, and it works well for a simple 8-speed setup. A good replacement shifter for the price. After a week of riding, it is very stable and perfect size for my Lectric XP4. I replaced the stock eight speed shifter with this one much better.
Review: Excellent upgraded shifter - This was a great upgrade from the factory shifter on my e-bike. I shipped quickly and the price was reasonable. I installed it as part of an upgrade from 7 speeds to 8 speeds. It shifts cleanly with each click of the index moving exactly 1 ring on the rear sprocket. I'm definitely happy with the purchase and recommend it highly.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What would I use for the front crankset / cassette? There are 2 gears in front. Trying to move from down tube to drop bars.**
A: Won't work. You'll need bar end shifters or thr combined brake and shifter combo (aka "brifters"). These thumbies are only for flat or riser handlebars

**Q: I cannot find a matching left side shifter for my 3-speed chainring. Advice?**
A: This is the matching left. Joseph Czubernat wants you to see this item at Amazon.comSUNRACE SHIFTER SUNRACE HB SLM96 LH 3s 22.2 INDEX https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JVK7XU0/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_9ZpXub1HF1N0P

**Q: Do you use the same thumb lever for shifting up and down through gears?**
A: It works very well for shifting through the gears on my bike. I only have 8 gears on the back, and it is the best rear shifters I have ever used.

**Q: Is there a Sunrace rear shifter that can be set to use as friction only (for 1980's 5-speed freewheel)?**
A: yes, see SunRace MTB Right Friction Shift Lever

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Eight speed thumb shifter success
*by P***W on November 7, 2013*

Good news if your part of that select group that hated to see Shimano thumb shifters go: these work! Have been frustrated for years trying to get smooth shifts with Shimano 7 speed thumbies with the phantom click to work with 8 speed cassettes. The Sunrace thumb s***ers appear to be well made and shifts are smooth and positive. There is no adjustment twist knob, but who uses those anyway. Sunrace also offers a nine speed model available elsewhere.
