Yes the joints leak due to being cheap quality. This system need 4000 to do its job Properly. About four times a year you’re gonna have to pull a part is vegetable oil on anything that moves/rotates otherwise it gets stuck and won’t move the wheels won’t turn properly they won’t swivel properly and you need maximum output to make this thing run properly. **Q: How does it work picking up dirt?** A: It is NOT a vacuum. It gets hooked up to the pump outflow. It has a "Basket", which is more like a pool screen. It does catch some dirt, but I believe the way it keeps the pool clean is by keeping the dirt from settling on the bottom, and by keeping the dirt suspended, the main pool filter will pick it out. **Q: How to I get the end of hose A to attach to the water return connector? I have a 15' round pool.** A: There is an adapter that you attach to the hose to. The hoses are supposed to leak a bit at the joints. Won’r even cover the whole pool area(above ground) stops in the middle and returns where it started. I have tried several things to get it to work correctly. Also it does not pick up sand or leaves . The only thing coming out of the catcher is sediment from build up. Truly a disappointmentUPDATE: we purchased a new pump and the vac moved around the way its supposed to for about 40 min. Then nothing. I pulled it out and checked the capture tray and there was hardly anything in it. These is plenty for it to pick up. I did a backwash and put it back in and it ran back and forth for about 10 min. I am over this piece of junk. My 26' Coleman pool came with a 2500 GPH cartridge filter pump, and I was worried that it wouldn't have enough oomph to propel the cleaner around the pool. I hooked the thing up according to the instructions, and turned on the pump. This little bugger scooted around my pool with ease, and moved quickly!The description says it is for a 24' or smaller diameter pool, but I figured I could add a few feet of hose if I needed to. Well, once I hooked it up and let it go, I found that it easily covered the entire pool bottom with no issues whatsoever.This thing is a cleaning maniac! It took about 2 1/2 hours to completely sweep and clean the bottom of my pool, but it did an amazing job.I am very pleased with this cleaner, and would highly recommend it to anyone who doesn't want to spend all their time manually vacuuming and cleaning their pool bottom by hand.This cleaner hooks up to the pump DISCHARGE line, not the suction side.
