This is a locking privacy replacement doorknob set meant for bedrooms and bathrooms that can easily be opened with just a flatblade screwdriver or coin in an emergency. It is not meant to be used as an entry or high security doorknob replacement. Secondly, very basic hardware knowledge is needed to replace a doorknob set and not everyone possesses basic hardware understanding. To the more experienced homeowner, most of us could easily replace a doorknob set with our eyes closed…it’s that easy once you’ve taken one apart. Yes, it’s a little more challenging getting the two screws started because the knob doesn’t separate like older models but all it takes is to assemble the two ends loosely before pushing them together onto the door. Took all of 10 minutes to remove and replace.
