A tamper is the tool you use to press the grounds into the portafilter. I like my knock box a lot…it is sturdy, easy to use, and easy to clean. This site wouldn’t accept my video. **Q: Can I use this with a 58mm portafilter? I bought another box and the opening was not wide enough for my portafilter.** A: Thanks for your interest in our knock box, which has an inner diameter of 11.9 cm.
