It's connected using USB. It is easy to use. It can quickly and silently vaccuum the air out of bags, making them flat from the air pressure. That saves a lot of space. It's really great. I bought this while on a trip because the place I stayed in didn’t have a vacuum cleaner. Was hopeful that this would be my go to travel companion, but it didn’t work. I could feel the suction, but it wasn’t enough to suck any air out of my space saver bags (including the one that comes with this item).
