If you spray, cut the material 50/50 with lacquer thinner for the first coat. The second and third coats are 70/30 (lacquer/lacquer thinner). Sand lightly after the second coat using 320 grit sandpaper and use 0000 steel wool after the third coat unless you like it shiny. If you use a brush to apply, 2 coats will work. It had to be thinned to get good atomization, but layed beautifully. I used mostly fast dry, cold weather thinner to speed up the drying, since is a slow dry brushing lacquer. I used 60% lacquer and 40% thinner.
