The connection to the PC is via USB and it works fairly well, however the software to gather data is rather archaic. The output is a text file which you can easily import into Excel for plotting if you need it. This was obviously an old serial data gathering application that was updated. Functional for what I need, but if you're expecting an intuitive GUI, you'll be disappointed.
