## Description

The Eaton RFTR9505-TAW ASPIRE RF 15-Amp Tamper Resistant Split Control Duplex Receptacle is ideal for replacing a regular receptacle and provides local and remote wireless RF on and off control of a single outlet. This receptacle can be manually or remotely controlled by commands sent from an ASIRE RF controller or other "Z-Wave" compatible controller or program. This duplex receptacle utilizes existing standard house wiring and fits in a standard wall box with no new wiring needed. The RFTR9505-TAW provides other programmable functions, such as scenes, events, association, child lockout and more when used with controllers. This receptacle has (3) pre-stripped 6-inch wire leads for line, neutral and ground applications. The Eaton RFTR9505-TAW ASPIRE RF 15-Amp Tamper Resistant Split Control Duplex Receptacle features an attractive alpine white finish. Review: A Great Z-Wave receptacle (and REPEATER) - A Great Z-Wave receptacle (and REPEATER)! Works FLAWLESSLY with ISY-994i! INSTEON/Z-Wave Controller! I have two Yale 'Real Living' (real expensive) Z-Wave locks in my house. One is a keypad door lock for garage to house, the second a keyless deadbolt for my front door (perfect for folks with kids!). Locks with tumblers can be quickly picked. Problem: INSTEON and Z-Wave don't talk to each other! Unlike INSTEON, Z-wave uses a wireless ONLY 'mesh topology' to communicate between units. When a Z-Wave device is adjusted (turned on, off etc.) it transmits a wireless signal. Other Z-Wave devices with regular power sources (i.e. not batteries) and within wireless range, act as 'repeaters' within this mesh network. That is, they pick-up the signal, then re-broadcast it. Why? This repeating process 'propagates' the Z-Wave signal farther throughout your house so that more remote devices are aware, and/or be controlled. The way my house is laid-out, my ISY-994i controller and two Z-wave door locks couldn't communicate reliably. The best option was to install this AC-powered Z-Wave outlet to act as a reliable REPEATER (a bridge) and enhance my Z-Wave mesh network, while also providing the capability of turning whatever is plugged into it on & off. This unit takes only minutes to install/replace an existing unit. It is pre-wired with common (wite), load (black) and ground (green) wires with a bag of wire-nuts.
Review: Drops Z Wave Connection w Hub - I have two of these in different places. It's been erratically dropping the z-wave connection w the hub. When I say erratic, it happens a couple of times a month for a period of time and then goes for a year before another hub disconnect. I am not sure what is going on as there aren't many changes to my network or hub. Everything is working just fine. I may end up removing this from my network if it keeps up this poltergeist behavior...
