The leather flap is made of real leather and it have some nice little pockets for cards and small items.The flap is attached with velcro which for me is great since it won't be in my way when reaching for a lens. The main differences are 1) this only has two pockets while the Shoot Sac has three (plus the two on the back), 2) you can wear this on the belt or on the shoulder, and 3) this has a much more comfortable and higher-quality strap.This bag is very very simple. It's simply two neoprene pockets, a uniquely shaped strap, a leather cover with two netted pockets and a belt attachment. This same simplicity is its primary benefit because it is slim and gets the job done for what it's supposed to do. I usually carry around 1 flash, a 580ex, and a lens, a Canon 24-70mm lens and it's perfect for this. On my body, I'll have one other lens (usually a prime lens) that I'll switch between.I sometimes shoot events every single day of the week so it's important for me to keep the weight off of my shoulders and for me to carry minimal equipment and weight. If you're looking to lug around your large zoom lenses (bigger than a 70-200), then this is NOT for you. If you're looking to carry the kitchen sink, this is not for you. If you go out to shoot you don't have a way to carry your body into the bag, so your body is always out. If you really want to use this bag you might need to put it into a bigger bag, so when you unload all your stuff, you pull out your unfind, choose your two lenses and you get out and shoot but guess what? the body is still out!
