I am using it to secure an axe to a MOLLE belt and shoulder harness that I use to carry forestry related tools and supplies. For my application it works perfectly. The item I received appeared new and unused, packaged in plastic. The build quality appears excellent. Stitches are all sound, fabric is clean and heavy weight. Shipping was prompt. ArmyGear was the seller. I am very pleased with this quality and utility of this item. I have provided 2 pictures to demonstrate how I am using this. I have a strip of 1 1/2" black webbing with snaps that I thread through the top 2 rows of MOLLE / PALS webbing on the leg extender. This creates a loop. The axe handle is passed down through the loop until the bottom of the axe head rests on the loop. The axe handle also passes through the velcro loop on the bottom of the extender, which keeps the top heavy axe from twisting in the loop. This allows the long handled axe (26" in my case) to hang securely from the belt without interfering with movement while walking. Axes with handles of different lengths and sizes can be accommodated by changing the size of the top loop and the location of that loop on the leg extender. Review: Fair and inexpensive solution - At first, this GI dropleg platform was very tight and hard to work with. It doesn't give you much space to work with, but is effective at carrying a holster or other MOLLE pouch. Work with it and it will get better. It's very simple and effective when used. *UPDATE* Been using this for a few years now, and it has surprisingly grown on me. For a cheap solution, it’s surprisingly versatile and effective. The problem is that it is not Coyote Tan, at all. It's this sort of shiny pinkish color. I have it attached to my Coyote LBV, and the extender resembles the color of a pink apple iphone attached to it.
