Please be sure to fill your oil filter half full with oil before inserting into vehicle. this will reduce ware and tare on your oil pump. this will also make it 4.5quarts to be put into the motor. replace the half quart with Lucas Oil stabilizer. doing this will not only extend the life of your oil pump but the oil life as well; so that the oil doesn't burn in the start of the motor when there is no oil in the filter. **Q: Can I put this in a 2000 Honda Civic manual transmission?** A: Although this is an old question, there is a lot of wrong information in this answer thread. That generation Civic used a Honda brand only 30 weight transmission oil. The difference between the Honda product and a normal SAE30 was the addition of an anti-foaming agent and the shear resistance additive. A standard 30 weight would promote syncro wear as it lacks the shear resistance needed for lateral movement across the syncro hubs.
