## Description

The Last King of Scotland is based the novel by Englishman Giles Foden and stars Forest Whitaker, James McAvoy, and Gillian Anderson. Soundtrack features an original film score by Alex Heffes (One Day in September, Touching the Void, Dear Frankie). The Last King of Scotland opens in theatres September 27th. In an incredible twist of fate, a Scottish doctor (James McAvoy) on a Ugandan medical mission becomes irreversibly entangled with one of the world’s most barbaric figures: Idi Amin (Forest Whitaker). Impressed by Dr. Garrigan’s brazen attitude in a moment of crisis, the newly self-appointed Ugandan President Amin hand picks him as his personal physician and closest confidante. Though Garrigan is at first flattered and fascinated by his new position, he soon awakens to Amin’s savagery - and his own complicity in it. Horror and betrayal ensue as Garrigan tries to right his wrongs and escape Uganda alive.

Loved the movie and enjoyed the African music in the music which is why I decided to get this CD which I have enjoyed playing many times since I bought it.

The 7 tracks ( of 18 ) written especially for the film by Alex Heffes make no further listening sense outside of the movie - they are very boring - but the other tracks are  pretty good. I especially like 'Fever' by Jingo. By Jingo I wish there were more tracks by them! Also the goofy Afro Reaggie Jazz on Afro Disco Beat is good. I love the raw recording and energy of many of the songs 'Love is You' is great. I could though live without 'The Bonnie Banks O'Lock Lomond'

very disappointed that the cd was scratched and wont play without skipping. Would think that the cd would be checked prior to shipping.
