I have an old 30 x 74 inch folding bed that has been folded so many times over the years the middle of the mattress was wearing thin. I wanted to put another thin mattress under it that wouldn't prevent the bed from folding up again when stored. It works for that and even makes the bed a little more comfortable. The mattress comes packed in a nice bag that looks a little like a sleeping bag stuff sack, and as a sleeping pad for using under a sleeping bag on the floor, it is pretty comfortable without the cot.
