In my old rice cooker, they tell me how much water to use. 3 scoops rice = fill water to "3" cup mark.** A: Hi there! The markings correspond to the cup that comes with the Zest. The cup is not a true cup. It's a standard rice measurement cup. So the recipe says 2:2, rice:water. Then you'd put in level 2 cups of rice, and fill the pot with water to the 2-mark. Hope that makes sense, and your rice comes out nice and fluffy! **Q: How long can you delay the start?** A: I never use delay cooking because you do not want the rice to be soaking too long . It will result in rice being too soft. **Q: Instruction book says grain to water ratio for rice is 1 cup rice and 1.25 cup water. Confirming it’s not supposed to be 2 cups?** A: Make sure you use their measuring cup, not a normal cup. They aren't 8oz, but rather more like 2/3 of a cup. Then use the marking inside the pot to fill the water to that many "cups" based on how much rice you put in. Doing that will get you perfect rice. If you want to know how much that is, you would have to pour out the water to measure it, then make note of how much.
