I was using Essence tubing mascara which was a hit like 3 years ago, but I think they changed their formulas and their mascara is awful now, so I decided to branch out. In today's economy I can't and won't jump onto these pricey products peddled by beauty influencers. For one, I'm GenX and I don't trust anyone, two, I'm broke so price is important. I decided to try this one out. I like that the brush doesn't come in the bottle. This is mentioned often enough, but the brush being in the tube sitting on the package for lord knows how long is actually a bad thing, it breaks down the product making it a lot less effective when you actually make the purchase and pop the brush into the tube. I like the rounded brush, but I don't want it super c shaped, because my lashes don't sit that way they are more straight across. The actual mascara is dark, the brush separates lashes extremely well, and a second coat makes them actually pop with zero clumps. My mom taught me to curl the lashes AFTER applying mascara once it's dry, and I'm not sure why know once else does this. It's 100% the way to get that false lash look. I recieved it yesterday and used it today for the first time. I've been using the same mascara for years and one side was a primer and the other is what they call beauty tube mascara. I liked it because it doesn't clump and at the time the few mascaras I tried were clumpy. And I hate clumps!!! But for a few reasons I wanted to try something different I came across clump crushers here on Amazon so I read the reviews and watched a you tube tutorial and review. It is part of the add on program so I decided to add it my order. I put it on this morning and I absolutely love the way it separated the lashes and there were absolutely no clumps! Although it didn't really add any length I went out today and purchased an eyelash primer it's from a different brand so I don't know how it'll work. But I will update after using it with and without primer a few more times. I really do love the way it separate my lashes. The wand is green with little plastic points, for lack of a better word, and you do feel them kinda slightly poking on your upper water line. So you may feel something weird and maybe a little uncomfortable but that's what your feeling. Like I said I will updateUPDATE: I usually use this without primer I did try it like I said I would but it looks so good without it. I do think that the amount in the container is kind of small bc I needed to replace rather quickly and I didn't use this mascara everyday. But for the price it's perfect I love the way this mascara looks. I have no flaking and my lashes hold a curl and look beautiful all day. Sometimes I combine it with another mascara I may be trying.
