It really does not fit. I was told by the company that I can get an adapter for the Surface Pro 3 for an additional $20 plus shipping. That will give me a total price of almost $70 for a working Microsoft Surface Pro 3 tripod mount. If you are considering alternatives, you may want to look the total cost. Not sure what I plan to do. I can return this item to Amazon for credit and purchase a different mount or bite the bullet on the adapter...I modified the mount with parts purchased at Home Depot. Total cost was about $3.00 for the modification.
