Some question the difference between Perlon and regular nylon (ballistic or otherwise.) Let me say there is a word of difference. Perlon is light, flat and "weavy" while the other type is more like dense, thick canvas. This will give minimal added height to any watch you use it with. As a side benefit, the weave is open enough to "breathe" freely so no hot, sweaty band issues here! No buckle strap holes either. Call it an infinitely adjustable watch band. The actual buckle used on these is indeed stainless steel with a nicely brushed finish. All seems a very fine quality product. I plan on getting more soon.I'm comparing this to a black 22mm ZULU4, 4 ring, with SS buckle, side by side. Both are nice, but the 22mm black Perlon band is totally different in every aspect. There's a equally slim strap "keeper" that add virtually nothing to the thickness of the band. The ZULU4 is heavy, thicker and bulky in comparison. That's good for some with a bigger watch. The Perlon can be at home with, for example, a 1930s era Bulova tanker (think thin, rectangular, curved back) style watch or a larger Orient Mako divers styled watch. The ZULU would overwhelm the daintier, dressier Bulova and look quite out of place!So, now we really have two choices to suit a watch and needs. Hopefully, these Perlon straps will stay below $13 USD and be a great catch! ### ⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic idea, less-than-fantastic execution. *by J***. on Reviewed in the United States on July 29, 2015* I like the make of this watch strap. I really love being able to control how tight or loose the strap is to such a fine degree. That part is perfect. There are three problems, though.The first is minor. The material feels very plastic-ey, and I wish it were some kind of fabric or fiber. It really doesn't feel that way when I wear it, though. It is just as comfortable as my previous NATO strap, once it's on. Since it's comfy to wear, it's really not a big deal.The second is also pretty minor, but silly. The buckle is contoured with a bump facing the INSIDE, so the bump pokes at my inner wrist. I was able to adjust the band so that the buckle sits to the side of my wrist, so it doesn't hurt. The problem is solved, but it seems like a silly thing to have needed to fix.The third is more concerning. The buckle, after just a month or so, has what looks like rust on it. It's on the inside, against my skin. Hands get wet, so I'm disappointed that it's unable to tolerate things like hand-washing without rusting.I'll keep wearing it, I'm just kind of disappointed in the quality. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great strap.
