The one I had before was from my internet provider, which has a more premium feel with a harder exterior. However, it was way shorter and needed a longer one. This item delivered and did the job perfectly. Been using it for 4 months now and no issues whatsoever. It was five feet from the corner exterior wall where the line entered my home. As far from the upstairs bedrooms as possible. Would have had to make another appt with a technician and pay for installation of a longer cable. Thanks to reviews here I gave this one a shot. The 20 ft cable worked perfectly and now I have wifi in my bedroom. TIP: my cable enters the home low to the ground and the cable going from the wall outlet to the modem connects at the bottom of the wall outlet...right above the floor...so I couldn't actually see the connection point...I wasn't sure if the cable just pulled out of the outlet or if there was some kind of lock or protective sleeve...and I was going to have to feel for the hole and hope I had the new cable in the right orientation. To help, I looked carefully at the cable connection on the modem (both ends of the cable are the same) and figured out how to detach the original cable there, then I was able to easily detach the old cable at the wall outlet and attach the new one. It works great.
