**Q: Are these real STM32 parts, or clones?**
A: I cannot determine if these are the real SMT32s or not.  (Type STM32F103C8T6).  The Chinese are excellent at disguising components.
However, I have connected all the necessary wiring and loaded my software with my loader and everything works, as it should.  I have had no problem with this device.

Keep in mind; this is a 3.3v device, even though some connections are 5.0 volt tolerant.
Powering with voltages higher than 3.3 ~ 3.5 volts will certainly damage the device.
There is an on board 5.0 to 3.3-volt regulator, which has limited current capability.
So, power can be applied to the 5.0-v pin without damage.

It might be best to order a Nucleo or Discovery board from ST Micro.
