The brushed steel outer bin is smart looking as unlike a high polished look does not show finger print!!. It is sturdy but not to heaven that my 96 year old dad can't move it with ease. The peddle action is very smooth and it has a soft close lid. Yes, it did seem expensive compared to a plastic bin but you get what you pay for. My precious bin - a Brabantia - was round and took up more space in my kitchen. It didn’t need to be replaced (even though it was over 10 years old) but as I was having a new kitchen fitted I didn’t feel I could keep the old bin! I love the look of this new bin it fits very neatly against an end unit. Only downside is - when I move it to clean/empty the 2 rubber feet pop off! I have to be quick to retrieve them before the dog pounces.
