So, after returning the North Face vest I had admired for so long, I did some research and came across this Columbia Lay D Down vest. I must say I am extremely happy with it! I love how you can change up the look by taking the hood on and off and the fur on and off. The cut is flattering around the waste and hips. (It hits lower on the hip than the North Face Bella Luna vest did, which I much prefer). Sizing runs a bit small. I usually wear a small/medium, but needed a large in this vest to have room for layering. The velcro is loud when you un-attach it (to be expected), but overall, I am very happy with this vest. Oh, and it's definitely as warm as the North Face. Definitely recommend this vest! For snowboarding, I wore it over a base layer and under a shell jacket. It was very warm and fitted (I am usually a size small or 6). The only problem I had with it is that I couldn't zip the zipper up the entire way so I had to wear a neck warmer (or I could have worn a balaclava). The fur on the hood is removable and so is the hood. The inside of the vest is shiny silver.
