If you do not have a side focus scope it probably isnt for you. I wouldnt consider having a scope without side focus anyway. Product works exactly as described. Wanted to make this video standalone camera but it just doesnt cut it without a scope. Not enough magnification( at night). The tiny illuminator actually is overkill on 3 or zoomed. It is plenty. The wifi app is a huge plus with one simple button to download to gallery. All features are simple to operate. It does add length to the eyepiece of your scope. But its still manageable. I have much more expensive devices but this is compact and easily moved from one scope to the other. Battery lasts a long time. The most important thing to me was you can dim the screen enough that it doesnt bother my eyes or give me a headache on long sits. Good clear picture. Sure beats setting up a rifle just for night shooting. Just attach behind your day scope. Will give more field of view if attaching behind a low power scope, like 1X.
