The only to defeat the lock is to cut the motor clamps themselves... not something most thieves would do. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good value for the money; stands up to non-saltwater conditions *by L***O on November 15, 2012* [NOTE - I do not use my boat or outboard in saltwater conditions] This lock appears to be very sturdy. It's not going to stop a motivated thief from stealing your motor but it's definitely going to be a heck of a racket when they try to remove it! Heavy steel construction; the lock itself also looks sturdy and is protected by the steel bar from tampering. The lock tumblers also look pretty legit. One problem I may have with it - at trolling speeds, the lock vibrates a lot. You get used to it but it might irritate some buyers after a while. I don't troll that much and a piece of paper between the lock and bar takes care of the noise, so not a problem for me.
