Good quality, Accurate.
I was not sure what to expect from a temperature reading unit that is low priced. I am pleasantly happy with how easy it works and more so how accurate it is in comparing it to the various thermostats in my home. It is almost spot on with everyone of them and it will help to find drafts coming in during the cold winters here in Frazier Park. I highly recommend buying it as you will be happy too.

Good Value but sighting off a bit and temp measurement seems inconsistent but w/in tolerance
Regardless of a few minor shortcomings, this is a handy tool. I bought it to check the temps of various materials given our back deck needs replacing. Who'd have thought our current Trex deck hits 140 degrees on a warm day, while some types of wood hit 170? Dark bricks run about 10 degrees warmer than light bricks. This also help me realize how much, much warmer some outdoor wear can be vs others. And I just verified our grill temp gage and that we have a nice 22-degree temperature drop for our home's A/C system. A man and his tools...On directional accuracy, I think this is off by a few inches at a 3-feet range. I checked this by putting a hot mug of coffee on the floor and "lasering" it from about waist high. By moving the laser to different spots on the coffee's surface as well as the floor I could tell the laser is pointed about 2-3 inches too far to the right and a bit high (at approx three feet). There's a label on the gun indicating a widening sensor area as things get farther away (e.g, 8cm diameter at 96cm range). I thought that implied the gun took an average across that diameter, but IMO it's reading some smaller point within that diameterI'll note that simply ignoring the laser and looking straight down the line on top of the device seems fairly more accurate. But the laser clearly shoots to the right of that.On temperature, I've had times I thought this read low by 2-3 degrees; however, this is still within the +/- 1.5 C range noted in the tolerances. I'm a bit obsessive about temperate around the house and have a few digital thermometers that read very close to each other (w/i a small fraction of a degree). I placed two of these on a shelf for a while and then checked the temp with this laser thermometer. They both read near 72.0F, while the laser read around 69.5F. But that's still w/in spec in centigrade. Later, I did the same measurement and got a more accurate reading. That said, it works pretty well for my needs.

Good product
The media could not be loaded. Bought this to gauge the temp in my snake terrarium. It’s as described. Easy to use and works great! Just pull the trigger and shoot. I like that it turns off by itself. Also you can pull and release the trigger for a single temp or you can hold down the trigger and sweep across an area for multiple temp readings consecutively.

Worth the money
I received this instrument in a heat sealed pack. The seal was cut open all the way around. Batteries were sealed. that's on Amazon. This thermometer works great. I don't know how long it will last, and don't really care, but I needed it for a particular job and have been using it all week. If you're a mechanic, buy 2 at that price. Just in case it only has a short life. This may last for years. I didn't check for accuracy, but it seems pretty damn close.
