I am a violin instructor and this tuner helps to make sure my students and I are 100% in tune!I have friends and students who have the snark tuner, but I think this tuner is a much better option because it tunes many different instruments (not just the violin) and also offers a metronome option. It is also awesome because you don't have to clip it onto your instrument to tune it, you can just set it near by and it works great. For example, the 'V' that indicates violin looks more like some kind of little bird. I also thought I was supposed to turn on the tone and tune to it- I didn't realize I just played and the device would recognize the tone by itself. Now that I've figured it out I am delighted to say it works perfectly. So chalk that up to user error! I only got it earlier this week so I can't speak to how durable or long-lasting it is, but my cat knocked it onto the tile floor and it didn't shatter, so that's a point in its favor. I hope it lasts a good long while!
