This can also prolong the life of the seal, as the #1 reason for swapping for a new one is the silicon loosing its natural adherence. With the costs of those stupid things, this is a major win. The biggest downside is how cool the gel feels when you put it on. It is funny how sometimes room temperature feels cold.
