Any smell from being new was gone in a couple days. I used them in my 2021 traverse. Only issue was with the driver side. I had to cut to try to fit, as suggested, but it still didn't fit correctly. Although, I believe over time it will mold like needed. There was no cutting required for the passenger side, back seats or rear. They look great and will protect my carpet for many years.
