## Description

Product Description The SOG FastHawk is faster, lighter, more agile, and easier to carry than its sibling the Tactical Tomahawk. This is not to say it is not still powerful, versatile, and functional. It is a tool that will be used for much more than you might anticipate. Chopping, breaking, cutting, hammering, piercing, digging, prying, pounding shaving, notching and opening are all capabilities well within the FastHawk's reach. The 420 stainless steel head with a hard cased black coating is mounted to the ballistic polymer handle with heavy-duty bolts and a steel ferrule to insure the strongest integrity. Side hammer checkering insures precision placement when swinging. Carried in a nylon sheath that can be mounted to belt, backpack, or gear. It is a universal tool for modern man. From the Manufacturer The F06-N Fast Hawk is a compact version of the F01T with its 420 stainless steel head with a 2-Inch edge and is coated in a scratch-resistant, black oxide coating for reduced reflectivity. The head is mounted to a polymer handle with heavy duty bolts. The handle has as a steel ferrule to prevent splitting, and side hammer checkering ensures precise placement when pounding. The Fast Hawk is ergonomic, lightweight design ensures comfortable use. Even if your blade is sharp, it's hard to make precise cuts if your axe doesn't fit comfortably in your hand. Crafted from tough, ballistic polymer, the textured handle is slip-free, durable, and well-balanced. Also, at just 19-Ounce, the F06-N is lightweight and easy to carry, and it comes with a nylon sheath for added safety. Carried in a nylon sheath, this is a universal tool for the modern man. This axe is backed by a lifetime warranty that protects against defects in manufacturing and materials. Review: Awesome Tomahawk! - My first thing that popped into my head when I pulled it out were: "Wow, this is small." The second thing that popped into my head was : "This packaging is stupid!" (have a knife ready, you'll need one, unless you like fiddling with zip ties for half an hour) The third thing that popped into my head was: "Who cares if these are small, they are awesome!" I am giving this a good review, because I like tomahawks anywhere I can get to use them: Video games (dead rising 2, black ops, red dead redemption), real life, axe throwing competitions on t.v., absolutely anywhere. I am a knife collector, but my love of tomahawks goes deeper than my love of knives. If you are an axe thrower, don't be fooled by the small size, this will throw well, and far, and fast. It is throwing sharp right out of the box, and I nearly cut myself seeing how sharp it was. If you want a small, utility style tomahawk, instead of those flimsy ones we all hate to get suckered into trying out, do not fear, you could put up a fight against a possessed pile of cinder blocks if you needed to. This will kill zombies, mini golems, rabid coyotes, demon monkeys, or anything that you can think of. I won't suggest fighting off a bear or mountain lion, you'll need a shotgun for cqb with one of them. Also, these are a much better size for fighting hawks, mostly due to the fact the voodoo hawk looks like it should belong to optimus prime (who wants a tact'ed out hawk looking like it's from planet cybertron?". I also would advise learning how to throw hawks. They are still good defense weapons when thrown. If a guy with tiny knife threatens you, you take out this hawk, which is well under three inches in blade length, he'll be scared out of the pantyhose he's using to cover his face. Clearing small brush is nothing but easy with this hawk. I was so into this item I bought 4 of them. My grandfather helped design some of the multi-tools sog makes, or used to make, and still has the one they gave him. This is a multi-tool of tomahawks, so don't be afraid to put it through it's paces. Trust me, you won't be able to break it, and if your still unsure about it, try to, sog will replace it with a brand new one. Every sog tomahawk comes with a lifetime warranty. Also buy some grip tape too, you may find the handle to be slippery when you're all sweaty from working with it for a while. Over all, buy MORE THAN one, you'll love them.
Review: Great little tomahawk to starr out throwing with - SOG Fasthawk. I bought this for my son for his tenth birthday (got one in all stainless too) and could not be happier. He has become very interested in throwing 'hawks and I wanted to encourage this activity as we can do it together. I bought a "classic" style 'hawk as well (a "mouse" hawk) along with this item so he two different styles and could see what he liked. By far, he loves the SOG Fasthawk. The edge came hair shaving sharp and while the spike seemed a little blunt, it sticks very well. For his size and strength, this tomahawk is perfect. The handle length and weight and balance are exactly what he needs. I had looked over the 3 pack of SOG throwing 'hawks, but decided that the Fasthawk seemed more durable. My son has chipped them up a little in the month he has been throwing them, but that is to be expected. The stainless steel head sharpens easily to a keen edge and retains it well. As an adult, I think that it is a great throwing tomahawk and could be used in a pinch as a lightweight camp hatchet. Overall I am extremely happy with my purchase. Oh, almost forgot, for $17 how can you go wrong. Stock up, throwing 'hawks rake a lot of abuse. So, to recap, this is the perfect starting out tomahawk for a boy ir girl or anyone ad it is lightweight, well balanced, well made, and has a price that can not be beat. The low maintenance of the stainless steel is great for a kid too.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: how well and long does it hold up?**
A: This hatchet and the other versions to include the Voodoo and regular tomahawk are beyond sturdy. I have had this fasthawk and its larger counterpart for over 2 years. The fasthawk has yet to show any signs of damage and the full size hawk has just started to loosen up at the head but that is partly my fault for using it to split logs on a camping trip. They do great for small logs and creating kindling but not large stumps haha. Also it looks like i could just tighten up the bolts that hold it on and it would make it good as new. You cant go wrong with this hatchet. Oh and it also makes a great pelvic-splitter when gutting big game. Not too heavy either.

**Q: Can it be thrown?**
A: We throw this particular tomahawk a lot. Bought the m48 from United Cutlery 3 days ago, and the handle just snapped. Not happy. Returning if possible, and buying another SOG.

**Q: Does DNA trace evidence clean off completely?**
A: Unfortunately, organic proteins are incredibly hard to remove from surfaces, and this tool has many small crevices that they could end up getting into. However, depending on how quickly it is cleaned, it is possible to clean the entire thing after an accidental stain. Neutrex, and similar oxy cleaners have proven effective in completely removing blood proteins from surfaces, which are incredibly hard to remove normally. There are other items that may do the trick as well, as blood contains hemoglobin, which grabs as much oxygen as it can (which oxy cleaners and other substances such as hydrogen peroxide provide in abundance). Once it's had its fill, it becomes impossible to be detected by any conventional biological test. Saliva is also excellent at breaking down blood proteins in a pinch. An acidic solution may also work, but you risk damaging the ax in the process.

**Q: Does this have a stamp on the bottom of the handle that says made in china?**
A: dont know i used it and it worked well but the few times i missed i must have knocked the china off of it, I guess that was the only low quality of this great hawk. not joking best bucks ive spent in a while. practice makes perfect , this took little practice , im buying them for all my daughters cars as a defensive weapon, its like cocking a shotgun but scarier in a girls hand. great buy good quality and commands respect.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Functions great as a low weight emergency axe
*by C***S on April 25, 2025*

I have owned one of these for about a decade. I have never used it as a throwing axe, but have used it primarily as a camping axe and garage tool. Over the years I have used to dig roots out of the front yard, pull rocks and paving stones out, split small amounts of firewood and other basic tasks. This little axe holds up great, it takes a giant beating and sharpens up quick and easy to go back out again. I have take chips out of it over the years and had to resharpen, but I cant blame the tool as most any other axe would have had the same issue given the abuse it was taking. This axe functions best for small and light tasks as it is very lightweight. If you keep it sharp and available it will handle a good many tasks but due to its light weight and small profile, it will struggle for tasks better suited for a medium to large axe and dull quick, that said its a great and cheap investment for an emergency tool, hatchet replacement for camping, etc.
