This needed frequent washing and never lay straight. This has slats and little feet to keep it in place and slightly off the tile floor. It always look neat and any water spots dry soon.It still looks the same after a year in a small bathroom. I do gave good ventilation in the bathroom. **Q: What is the weight limit for this mat?** A: I can't tell you for sure, but it is really solid so I would say it could most likely take somewhere between 200 and 300 pounds. the edges are over 3/4" and down the middle there is a support piece. I just jumped up and down on it and it didn't flex at all. The one thing I would recommend if you buy one (which I highly recommend) is to buy a can of teak oil and once a year clean it off and re-coat it with the teak oil. It will last you years. We have two of them and really love them.
