I have flooring from Lumber Liquidators, so I wanted to test my flooring, even though it isn't on the list of the problem flooring. This product cannot be trusted *by B***N on Reviewed in the United States on May 4, 2016* As part of my research as a chemistry student, I compared this product to industry standard methods of determining formaldehyde concentration in air. This home test kit performed worse than all of the other methods for detecting formaldehyde. The biggest issue was that the color change (which is the premise of the test) was open to interpretation. To a trained eye, a slight color change was noticeable as the formaldehyde concentration changed. To an untrained eye,however, each test appeared to match the color of the 0.5mg/m3 on the color correlation chart (with the exception of the 0.00mg/m3 test). Perhaps the worst part about the home test kit was the false negative even when the concentration is very low. The attached image shows that when the industry standard products average 0.04 mg/m3, this home test kit read a concentration of 0.13mg/m3.
