Product description of the adapter indicates that the adapter is for use with Kidde Model KN-COSM-IB but does not specifically list -IBA. There do not seem to be any other Kidde adapters that specifically list the -IBA model (which looks identical to -IB in pictures). I was able to modify the base plate of the -IBA by snipping out a small portion of the inner cut-out so that the adapter would fit. This seemed easier than redoing already existing ceiling harness wiring to accommodate the new pin configuration of the KN-COSM-IBA. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Upgrade to new smoke detectors without updating the wiring. *by J***R on Reviewed in the United States on January 31, 2018* My Firex smoke detectors haves turned 10 years old and that’s the replacement cycle now. I purchased a new kidde/firex detector and they have a different clip connector and base plate. The new detectors do come with both the base plate and wire pigtail. If you don’t want to replace the older style wiring you can use this adapter to connect the new detector to the old wiring clip. It’s two screws to replace the backing plate and the holes are in the same place. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Quick Convert Adaptor is a Snap to Use. Literally. *by D***T on Reviewed in the United States on June 2, 2015* My only regret is not knowing in advance I would need the Kidde KA-F quick convert adaptor when I ordered the replacement smoke detector. I could have saved a few dollars buying them together. Nevertheless, this easily snaps right on to the older wiring harness, and plugs right in to the updated version of the smoke detector. One thing you might also check when you start installation is the ceiling connector ring. I assumed (incorrectly) that I could just twist the new detector on to the old ring. That wasn't the case.
