And it took the blackheads off of my nose. Looked like a porcupine. As far as whiteheads I'm not too sure. **Q: Do these remove fine hairs on the nose too?** A: I am not sure if they remove fine hairs, I would say "maybe". I do know I have used these now several times and if I had to guess, they only remove about 30% of what is there. Afterwards, you can still see many remaining 'heads, and I just remove them all myself by squeezing techniques. I guess it depends on the individual person, skin type, etc. But they only work very slightly for me. **Q: When the instructions say "Apply to the skin area, smooth side down," do they mean the sticky side or the side with the charcole?** A: They mean the side that was stuck to the plastic! That side is smoother and shinier. Make sure your skin is pretty wet before you apply it, I would advise steaming it with a hot towel to open up your pores. I've been using Bioré cleaning nose strips for many years. I find it to be a very good product that is very effective. In my experience to get the best results I use the pore strip after a hot shower and blotting my nose and surrounding area with hot water (and by hot, I mean as hot as you are comfortable with), then applying the strip to your nose. I like starting on top center of nose and pushing outward. You want to make sure you get all of the air bubbles out and get a good seal between the strip and your nose. You want to make sure that before you peel off the strip that your strip and skin is completely dry. For me, this means waiting no less than 30 minutes, and sometimes longer depending on humidity or how long or hot the shower was. I think the longest I have ever had a pore strip on was 45 minutes. If you peel it off too early some of the adhesive material will still be gooey and not pull anything out of your skin.
