It depends. This winter will be the first time I have my Big Cat out, however, I also own a Barronett Grounder 350, which is basically the same thing with some small differences in window material and placement. The top and sides will keep out rain pretty well if you are sitting inside. There may be some leaks, but nothing that makes me question the quality. There are several commercial and homemade products to help "waterproof" tents and blinds. With their application to the blind I'm sure you could completely waterproof it, though I don't find the need. The material for the roof seems to be the same type and thickness as my grounder 350, and the hub structure is the same. Last winter I had to leave my blind out and we had substantial snow. Where another member of our hunting camp had his blind ruined, the grounder 350 was fine, even though the top collapsed in. Keep in mind that with snow/ice the top will collapse in and you need to be careful removing it if it is frozen. The only damage my grounder sustained was from some thorn bushes and shrubs after a pretty bad wind storm caused it to un-stake and move about during spring turkey. You will get some frosting inside of the blind, more so if you leave only the mesh closed and windows open. This leads to a condensation effect where you may get some water dripping on you as the material heats up with the sun. Its a solid blind and the largest I found for hunts with multiple people in the blind and/or camera equipment. **Q: I hunt in tall trees I can use it for this or only for horizontal shots** A: I am sorry, but, I don't know that I understand your question. This is a ground blind and it is a portable blind. This is not meant to be left out in the elements as it may be damaged as well as it would be subject to damage by animals. If you are looking for a blind that is more permanent and can be left out all season, you may want to take a look at www.huntriversedge.com for permanent blinds manufactured by Ardisam, the same manufacturer for the Barronett Blinds. **Q: Does it have a back pack to carry it and how heavy is it?** A: has a carry bag, plus 22 pounds **Q: Can someone tell me actual floor dimensions of this blind? I'm going to build an elevated platform. Is it really 70"x70" as advertised?** A: doesn't have a floor - the dimensions are where the 4 corner tie downs would be placed and are accurate. All in all I’m happy with the product and the price. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Go ahead and get one *by A***R on December 15, 2016* I had always hunted from climbers, ladders, towers, etc, but decided to go the ground blind route. I am amazed at how many deer I've seen from this blind and how close they get. During the rut I had a doe w/a buck bed down 10 yds from me. They stayed for almost an hour and never saw or smelled me (I am a scent control maniac though). Deer see the blind, but get very comfortable with it being in the grove of sawtooth oaks we planted 15 years ago. I passed on several "shooter" bucks & finally shot a 4.5 year old 9 pt that weighed 230 lbs. This blind sets up in a minute or two and is huge. The shoot thru mesh is nice and the deer absolutely can't see you thru it if you stay still. I am looking forward to hunting in it turkey season.
