Since its listed as a make-up sponge washing machine TOY. I wasn't quite sure if it was really for washing make-up sponges or for play use since it says its a Toy. So I purchased it with the thought that its a toy and even if it didn't work it would be a cute piece for anyones doll figure house for pretend play. It does work, don't see any mention of if you can use soap in it, so don't plan to. Looks like you can also use it to soak sponges or doll clothes (depending on what you use it for).
