It is a great idea that keeps the cost down for consumers and saves storage space. A great expansion if you are smart enough to know that the cardboard terrain fits over your existing boxes.

- The Maps Expansion is a set of box covers and scrolls. It includes everything needed to convert the 6 Evergreen Woodlands boxes into 2 different settings: the Winter Highlands and the Savage Wastelands.
- The Maps Expansion is usable with ALL play modes. These are NOT just aesthetic changes! These change the gameplay drastically. Each map takes a different approach to where control areas are placed, how much space is between the control areas and what terrain surrounds them.
- This requires a different strategy on how to approach and defend the control areas resulting in a very different experience!

The Tiny Epic games are all amazing and use quality components. BUT this expansion is made cheap. The 'terrain' all comes folded made from cheap thin cardboard. When you open the boxes , aka terrain, they do not remain open properly squared , the sides sag. All in all im a disappointed.
