Let there be Thrash! In 2011 a new chapter is about to come to the more than legendary UK Death/Thrash band, Onslaught! Since first forming in the early 80's and releasing 3 critically acclaimed studio albums but never really getting fully off the ground (they were often touted to be worthy of marching in the same ranks as Slayer, Metallica, Megadeth, Testament etc.), they eventually disbanding in 1991. Refreshed and reforming again for 2007's excellent "Killing Peace", 2011 now finds Onslaught back to conquer the Metal legions with "Sounds Of Violence"! Founding member and guitarist Nige Rockett comments on "The Sound Of Violence": "It's extremely violent and back to our roots in many ways, but also sounding very contemporary in its entirety. They were going to have a hard time topping it...and they didn't do it. But that's ok, because this is still a thrashfest that is completely enjoyable. Their sound is the same, but I can't put my finger on why it isn't as good. I guess it comes down to songwriting...or maybe I'm taking them for granted. I'd still definitely recommend this cd to any thrash fan.
