I have naturally curly hair (and a lot of it!) and clips frequently break from the weight of all my hair when trying to wear it up. This clip is sturdy and does not "pop" out of my hair like most clips do when I've tried to pull all of my hair into a full, curly ponlytail. The other great thing about this clip is that I can wear it all day and it does not give me a headache! I also like that you cannot see the clip. The hair closest to my scalp slides through the teeth and my curls cover up all of the clip. It does take some practice at first use, to pull the clip around your hair--it is hard plastic and does not stretch--get all of your hair into the teeth, and then there is some awkwardness in getting the two end pieces to hook together. But do not let that deter you because after only a couple of tries I got the hang of it. I also had to wait until after I had the clip in to apply hair spray.
